Two Akron men charged: Two Akron men, ages 43 and 32, were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia Dec. 16 at 10:45 a.m. after their car was stopped for speeding on Route 303 at Page Road. Police said each man had a drug pipe and an undetermined amount of marijuana on them. The 32-year-old driver was charged with speeding after police said he was traveling 50 mph in a 35 mph zone.
THEFT
Purse stolen from car: An Aurora woman reported Dec. 18 at 6:09 p.m. that someone stole her purse from her parked car on Aurora-Hudson Road. The woman told police someone broke the rear passenger side window to enter the car. The purse contained a bank check book and eyeglasses. Police are investigating.
Another purse theft reported: Another Aurora woman reported Dec. 18 at 6:39 p.m. that someone broke her car's front passenger window while it was parked on Aurora-Hudson Road and stole her purse. The woman told police the purse contained $519 in cash, two gift cards totaling $55 and eight credit cards. Police said one of the stolen credit cards was used at a Route 14 gas station the same day to purchase $139 worth of gasoline. Police are investigating.
Theft from bank account: A Streetsboro man reported Dec. 18 at 1:09 p.m. that someone stole $349 from his bank account. The man told police he noticed three fraudulent charges from gas stations in Louisiana. He said two of the charges were refunded by his bank and the third charge was pending.
Stolen license plate reported: A resident reported Dec. 18 at 11:46 a.m. that a car license plate was stolen off a vehicle that was parked at an apartment complex on Bridgeport Avenue. Police are investigating.
Wallet taken from car: A Streetsboro man reported Dec. 12 at 1:18 p.m. that his wallet was stolen from his vehicle on Portage Pointe Drive. The report did not indicate how much money was taken or whether the vehicle was locked. Police are investigating.
COUNTERFEIT money
Counterfeit $10 bills found: An employee at a Route 43 business reported Dec. 14 at 1:46 p.m. that the company had received two fake $10 bills. The store manager told police he believed it occurred Jan. 13 between 4 p.m. and midnight. Police are investigating.
ARREST WARRANTS
Active warrant through Streetsboro: A 28-year-old Macedonia man was taken into custody Dec. 16 at 12:27 p.m. following a traffic stop on Route 303 because he had an undisclosed active arrest warrant through Streetsboro police. The report did not indicate what the traffic stop was for. The man was taken to the Portage County Jail.
Burton man in custody: A 49-year-old Burton man was taken into custody Dec. 14 at 4:07 p.m. during a traffic stop on N. Chillicothe Road. At that time, Streetsboro police received a call from the Geauga County Sheriff's Department, saying one of its officers was at a traffic stop with the man, who had an arrest warrant through Streetsboro police for failure to appear at a non-compliance hearing. The report did not indicate what the traffic stop was for. The man was taken to the Portage County Jail.

Paint poured on sign: Police received a report Dec. 14 at 10:28 a.m. that someone splattered yellow paint on the Hickory Ridge sign located along Hickory Ridge Drive and Route 303. The report did not indicate the amount of damage. Police are investigating.
criminal mischief
Vehicle driving on grass: A male caller reported to police Dec. 11 at 4:14 p.m. that someone drove a car from Hickory Ridge Drive onto the grass throughout Hickory Ridge condominium development. The caller, who is an agent for the condominium management company, told police it occurred Dec. 10 between 6:15 and 6:30 a.m. The caller said the vehicle did not cause damage because it was moving slowly throughout the yards. Police are investigating.
