Streetsboro man arrested: A 43-year-old Streetsboro man was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence Jan. 13 at 12:53 a.m. on Route 14. Police said they pulled over the man because he stopped his vehicle about 100 feet past the stop sign at routes 303 and 14, then proceeded on Route 14 and drove diagonally across five lanes of traffic to get to a fast-food restaurant. After speaking to the man, police said he showed signs of impairment, failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. His blood-alcohol count was .178, over the legal limit of .08.

Marijuana found in car: A 30-year-old Streetsboro man was charged with possession of a controlled substance Jan. 14 at 6:45 p.m. on Route 14. Police said the license plate on the man's vehicle is expired. While speaking to the man, police said they smelled an odor of marijuana in the car. Police said a large plastic bag containing 126.2 grams of marijuana was in the vehicle. A street value was not listed.

THEFT

Miscellaneous movies stolen: A 29-year-old Ravenna man was charged with theft Jan. 17 at 1:32 p.m. at a Singletary Drive business because he allegedly tried to steal $953 worth of merchandise. Store security personnel reported the man tried to steal miscellaneous movies, a rug and a large bag to carry items. The man was apprehended by police, and all the items were recovered.

Video games taken: A 32-year-old Streetsboro woman was charged with theft Jan. 18 at 2:46 p.m. at a Route 303 business after police said she tried to steal a $149 video game. The alleged theft was reported by store security personnel, who alleged the woman left the store without paying for the item. Police said the woman also had in her possession her own pliers, scissors and a knife that were destroyed by police. The items were entered into evidence to be destroyed because police had no reason to return them to the woman.

ARREST WARRANT

Man with two warrants: A 30-year-old Ravenna man who had two undisclosed arrest warrants through Streetsboro police was in custody at the Portage County Jail, police said. Portage County law enforcement officials notified Streetsboro police that the man was in custody Jan. 14 at 4:12 p.m. The man remained in the Portage County Jail.

Mantua man arrested: A 27-year-old Mantua man was arrested Jan. 15 at 3:23 p.m. at a Route 43 business because he had an undisclosed arrest warrant. A Streetsboro officer notified another policeman on patrol that the Mantua man was driving his vehicle behind the first officer. The officer stopped at the business, and a dispatcher confirmed the man was driving under suspension. The man also pulled into the business and was arrested.
