DRUG- AND ALCOHOL-RELATED

Driver allegedly impaired: A 32-year-old Sagamore Hills man was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence Feb. 6 at 10:13 p.m. on Portage Pointe Drive.

Police were summoned because the man was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run accident on Route 14. Police said the complainant followed the suspect from the accident site to Portage Pointe Drive. Police said they observed signs of impairment while talking to the suspect, who failed field sobriety tests.

Drug paraphernalia found in vehicle: A 23-year-old Maple Heights man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia Feb. 7 at 12:26 a.m. on Interstate 480 at Frost Road. Police said they stopped the car because it had no license plate light. Police said they found a glass smoking device in the vehicle.

Peninsula man arrested: A 39-year-old Peninsula man was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence Feb. 8 at 2:49 a.m. on Route 14. The man failed field sobriety tests.

Man charged with speeding, OVI: A 48-year-old Ravenna man was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence Feb. 10 at 12:51 a.m. on Route 14. Police said they stopped the vehicle because it was traveling 53 mph in a 35 mph zone. Police said the driver seemed impaired. The man failed field sobriety tests, police said, and refused a breathalyzer test.

He was also charged with speeding.

Too intoxicated to drive: A 53-year-old Hudson man was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence Feb. 10 at 2:32 p.m. after he called police, saying he had driven to a Route 303 store but was too intoxicated to drive home. Police found the man in a vehicle with its engine running in the store parking lot. He failed field sobriety tests, police said, and had a blood-alcohol count of .246, more than three times the legal limit.

Crash precedes OVI charge: A 45-year-old Willoughby woman was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence Feb. 10 at 2:22 a.m. at a Route 14 fast-food restaurant. Police were summoned because of a report of a crash in the drive-through window line.

Police said the woman showed signs of impairment. She failed field sobriety tests, according to police. There was no report of any serious injuries.

THEFT

Prescription medication taken: A Streetsboro man reported $50 worth of prescription medication was taken from his vehicle on Portage Pointe Drive Feb. 6 at 10:46 a.m. The man said the theft occurred overnight Feb. 5. Police are investigating.

Cosmetics stolen from store: A 20-year-old Streetsboro man was charged with theft Feb. 10 at 12:55 a.m. after police said he tried to steal $73 worth of miscellaneous cosmetics from a Singletary Drive store. Store security personnel said they observed the alleged theft and detained the man until police arrived.

ARREST WARRANT

Streetsboro man arrested: A 24-year-old Streetsboro man was taken into custody by Streetsboro police after Ravenna's Adult Probation Department informed them Feb. 6 at 3:10 p.m. that the man, who was in their custody, had an undisclosed active arrest warrant.
