Kent man faces drug charge after arrest at Streetsboro hotel

Record-Courier Staff Report Published:

A Kent man is facing drug possession charges after Streetsboro police allegedly found crystal methamphetamine, marijuana and prescription drugs in his hotel room.

Streetsboro police arrested Brian K. Crawford, 32, Feb. 26 and charged him with possession of drugs, a second-degree felony.

According to a Streetsboro police news release, the department investigated a report of possible drug activity at a room in the Fairfield Inn on Route 14. When police arrived, the occupants of the hotel room gave officers consent to search the room.

Officers allegedly found one ounce of crystal methamphetamine, along with marijuana and prescription pills. Streetsboro police estimated the street value of the methamphetamine at $6,000, and described it as having a "purity," which distinguished it from typical homemade methamphetamine.

Streetsboro police turned the investigation of the case over to the Portage County Drug Task Force.
