Twinsburg man charged: An 18-year-old Twinsburg man was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence and an open liquor container violation March 8 at 2:11 a.m. on Route 43.

Police said they stopped the vehicle because it had its high beam headlights activated, and the driver ignored the officer's attempt to signal him by flashing his headlights.

Police said the man had an odor of an alcoholic beverage on him.

The man failed field sobriety tests and refused a breathalyzer test, according to police, who said they found an open beer can inside the vehicle.

Loud exhaust system: A 24-year-old Streetsboro man was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence March 7 at 2:59 a.m. on Route 303 at Page Road.

Police said they stopped the car because it had a loud exhaust system.

Police said they smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle and said the man admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages.

The man did not list a specific amount of beverages he consumed.

The man failed field sobriety tests, according to police, and his blood-alcohol count was .17, above the legal limit of .08.

He was also charged with having loud mufflers.

Hudson man charged: An 18-year-old Hudson man was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence March 3 at 2:48 a.m. at the intersection of Route 303 and Jefferson Street

Police said they stopped the vehicle because the driver did not drive within the lanes. The man failed field sobriety tests, according to police.

ASSAULT

Scuffling with police: A 32-year-old Ravenna man was charged with assault and resisting arrest after police said he caused a disturbance March 2 at 8:50 p.m. at a Route 303 bar.

An employee said the man was cut off from being served alcohol and became aggressive toward employees, then pushed and grabbed the neck of an employee, causing a bruise to the employee's neck.

Police said the man pushed and pulled away from police officers when they attempted to arrest him.

Police said the man struck an officer on the side of the head while resisting arrest.

The man was placed in handcuffs and taken to the Portage County Jail. There was no report of injury to any officer.

THEFT

Medication reported stolen: A Streetsboro woman reported March 6 at 5:16 p.m. that medication was missing from her residence.

Police said there was no evidence that it was stolen and no signs of entry into the residence.

Police advised the woman to keep medication in a safer location away from where anyone can get to it. The report did not list where the medication was stored.

FRAUD

Identity theft in Oklahoma: A Streetsboro man reported March 9 at 3:36 p.m. that his personal information was used to open four cell phone accounts in Oklahoma.

Accounts through four national cell phone carriers were closed after representatives contacted him to verify his information.

The man told police he does not know how his information was obtained.

ARREST WARRANT

Woman in custody: Ravenna police reported to Streetsboro police March 5 at 9:29 a.m. that they had a woman in custody who had an undisclosed arrest warrant through the Streetsboro Police Department.

Streetsboro police picked up the 23-year-old Garfield Heights woman at the Ravenna police station and took her to the Portage County Jail.
