Charged with OVI: A 38-year-old Streetsboro man was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence Sept. 28 at 8:37 p.m. on Route 14 and Portage Point Drive. Police said the man's car failed to yield after driving out of the parking lot of a Route 14 business, almost striking the police cruiser, resulting in a charge of improperly driving in a right-of-way from a place other than a roadway. A police officer said he smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage, and the man failed field sobriety tests. The man refused to take a blood-alcohol test, according to police.
Possession of drugs: A 19-year-old Cleveland man was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence, possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, after police said he was traveling 53 mph in a 40 mph zone, and failure to drive within marked lanes Sept. 29 at 3:58 a.m. on Route 43. Police said the stopped the man's car because it failed to drive within the white lines on the road. Police said they found 2 grams of marijuana and a digital scale in the vehicle.
Marijuana found: A 21-year-old Richmond Heights man was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence, failure to obey traffic control devices, possession of drugs and driving with an expired license Sept. 29 at 2:15 a.m. on Route 14. Police said they stopped the vehicle after it went through a red light. Police said they detected an odor of marijuana in the vehicle and found 1 gram of marijuana.
Garden cart taken: A Stewart Avenue resident reported at Sept. 23 at 9:24 a.m. the theft of a garden cart valued at $125 from in front of her home. The woman said her husband took the cart to the end of their driveway loaded with trash to be collected at about 8 a.m., and it was gone at about 8:30 a.m. The cart had two wheels, a handle and a hitch for the back of their tractor. Police are investigating.
Post hole digger stolen: A post hole digger valued at $1,000 was reported stolen Sept. 29 at 3:07 p.m. on Stone Road. It was taken between Sept. 27 and 29. Police are investigating.
Vehicle stolen from residence: A Page Road man reported Sept. 28 at 12:53 p.m. that a vehicle was stolen sometime between Sept. 21 and 28. Police are investigating.
