Van's rear window broken: Police responded to a call on Dec. 22 regarding damage to the vehicle of a Streetsboro woman. The incident occurred between 2:30 and 7:20 a.m. on Vantage Way. The rear window of her Dodge Caravan had been broken, according to the police report. No other vehicles in the driveway were damaged.
Hit and run on Route 14: A woman from Akron was traveling westbound on Route 14 at about noon Dec. 20 and was turning right into the parking lot of a Route 14 parking lot. At the same time, another vehicle failed to yield and struck her in the rear passenger side bumper and then drove away. The damage to the vehicle was minor, according to the police report. The unidentified driver was a white female driving a dark SUV, according to police reports.
Theft by gift card alleged: A male employee at a Singletary Drive business told police that he was researching a register shortage from the day before when he discovered a female employee had allegedly loaded a gift card with money and never entered any payment. The man continued the investigation and found that she had allegedly done the same thing on two prior occasions, on Nov. 29 and Dec. 6. He reported that the total of gift cards was $275. The employee confessed to the theft.
Threesome teams up on alleged theft: On Dec. 18 at about 5:30 p.m. an asset protection employee of a Route 14 store alleged he saw three individuals committed a theft. He claimed a 19-year-old male and two females, one unidentified and the other a minor, pushed an empty shopping cart around the store. The group put four items in the cart and later moved the items into a plastic store bag. The male then went to customer service and asked to return two of the items. He received a gift card for the store in the amount of $58.76, and, after asking the age limit for returning merchandise, he left the customer service area. Ten minutes later, the two females returned with the remaining items in the bag. The juvenile returned the merchandise to receive a gift card for $64.11.
