Drug charges: A 21-year-old Milan, Mich., man was charged with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia Dec. 31 at 2:08 a.m. on the Ohio Turnpike. A state trooper pulled over the vehicle and requested a K-9 officer to sniff the vehicle, according to police, so a Streetsboro police dog responded and walked around the vehicle. The dog got a positive alert, causing officers to do a probable cause search of the vehicle and its contents. Police said they found illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. The report did not indicate the type of drug paraphernalia that was located.
Intentional damage: Police said a building in the 9000 block of Route 43 was intentionally rammed, but no one was reported injured. Police were summoned to the building Jan. 2 at 3:39 a.m. after an alarm sounded. Police said nothing was missing from the building, and no estimate of damage was available. Police are investigating.
Fraudulent purchases made: A resident reported Dec. 31 at 9:40 a.m. that a someone made three fraudulent purchases on three different credit cards belonging to her. Police said each receipt had a different signature. The report did not indicate what items were purchased. Police are investigating.
Akron woman arrested: A 28-year-old Akron woman who had an undisclosed arrest warrant issued for her through Streetsboro police was taken into custody Dec. 31 at 5:03 p.m. on Infirmary Road. Streetsboro police dispatch received a call from the Portage County sheriff's office that a sheriff's officer was with the woman on a traffic stop. The report did not indicate why the vehicle was stopped. The woman was taken to the Portage County Jail.
