Charged with OVI: A 43-year-old Streetsboro man was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol Feb. 4 at 5:06 p.m. on Interstate 480 at Frost Road. Police said they stopped the vehicle because it had an expired license plate. Police said they smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on the man, who failed field sobriety tests. The man had a blood-alcohol count of .17, above the legal limit of .08, according to police.

Marked lane violations: A 42-year-old Ravenna man was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol Feb. 5 at 8:48 p.m. on Route 14. Police said they received an anonymous call reporting a possible drunk driver. After arriving at a Route 14 business, police said the man committed marked lane violations, for which he was also charged. Police said they smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on the man, who failed field sobriety tests. The man had a blood-alcohol count of .17, above the legal limit of .08, according to police.

Possession of drugs: A 22-year-old Cleveland man was charged with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia Feb. 6 at 3:32 p.m. on Route 43. Police said they received a call from an anonymous caller about a reckless driver. Police said they stopped the vehicle, and said there was a strong odor of marijuana inside. Police said they found a glass smoking device and an undisclosed amount of marijuana rolled in paper during a search of the car.

Theft

Stealing beer: A 55-year-old South Russell woman was charged with theft after police alleged she tried to steal a six-pack of beer worth $8.99 Feb. 1 at 1:32 p.m. from a Route 43 business. The incident was reported by an employee, who said the woman walked out of the store without paying for the beer. The woman's identity was obtained after the employee got the woman's license plate number.
