Possession of marijuana: A 36-year-old Streetsboro was charged with possession of marijuana Feb. 11 at 4:27 p.m. on Route 303. Police said they stopped the vehicle after the man, who was a passenger, appeared to be using marijuana, then the man ducked down to hide after the vehicle passed the police cruiser. Police said the man had a marijuana smoking device and 2.1 grams of suspected marijuana.

Theft

Pop stolen from machine: Police said someone stole an unknown amount of pop and money from a pop machine at a Market Square Drive business sometime between Feb. 7 and 14. The theft was reported Feb. 14 at 3:26 p.m. Police said the suspect broke off the lock and opened the machine before taking the pop and cash. Police are investigating.

Arrest warrant

Driving too closely: After being pulled over for following the vehicle ahead too closely, a 21-year-old Hudson man was arrested Feb. 10 at 10:07 p.m. on Route 303 on an arrest warrant for failure to appear. Police said the Hudson man, a passenger in the vehicle, was taken to the Portage County Jail. The driver was given a warning.

Expired license plates: A 50-year-old Brook Park man was pulled over for and charged with having expired license plates Feb. 12 at 6:56 p.m. on Route 43. The man said he just took the vehicle out of storage and forgot to update the plates.

Fictitious license

plates

Child restraint not used: A 26-year-old Streetsboro woman was charged with having fictitious license plates Feb. 14 at 10:23 p.m. on Route 14. After police stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation, they determined the plates were fictitious, the woman was driving with a suspended license and her juvenile son was not wearing a child restraint. She was charged with not wearing a child restraint. The report did not indicate how old the child is.
