Charged with DUI: A 20-year-old Eastlake woman was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol March 2 at 4:27 a.m. on Route 43. Police said they stopped the vehicle because it was swerving in between lanes, for which she was charged. Police said they smelled alcohol on the woman, who failed field sobriety tests. The police report did not indicate what the woman's blood-alcohol count was.
Possession of drugs: An 18-year-old Kent man was charged with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia March 3 at 1 a.m. on Route 14 at Classic Drive. Police said they stopped the vehicle because it had no rear license plate light, for which the man was warned. Police said they spotted suspected marijuana residue inside the vehicle, then located a container with 1 gram of suspected marijuana.
Run over in driveway: A 43-year-old Streetsboro woman was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and aggravated vehicular assault March 4 at 6:07 p.m. after police said the woman ran over a man with her vehicle.
Police received an anonymous call reporting a man was run over by a vehicle in a residential driveway on Page Road. When officers arrived, the man was laying in the driveway, and was later treated and transported by Streetsboro EMS. Police said the woman smelled of alcohol and had a blood-alcohol count of .148, over the legal limit of .08. The woman failed field sobriety tests, according to police. She was taken to the Portage County Jail.
OVI suspension: A 22-year-old Bedford man was charged with operating a vehicle under a suspension and operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol March 3 at 6:19 p.m. on Route 14. Police pulled over the vehicle for an obstructed view violation, for which he was warned. Police said a person with a valid driver's license arrived on the scene to drive the vehicle.
OVI charge: A 23-year-old Kent woman was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol March 4 at 10:38 p.m. on Route 14. Police said they stopped the vehicle because it made several lane changes without signaling, for which she was charged. Police said they smelled alcohol on the woman, who failed field sobriety tests. She had a .145 blood-alcohol count, over the .08 legal limit, according to police.
Cellphone, pocket knife taken: A 40-year-old Kent man reported a $300 cellphone and a $25 pocket knife were stolen March 1 at 7:26 p.m. at a Singletary Drive store where he works. The man reported his cellphone was charging where he was working. He reported he put down his knife to move some boxes, and his phone was still there. After moving the boxes, he reported he returned to the work area, and the cellphone and knife were gone from where he left them. Police are investigating.
