Alcohol- and

drug-related

Unconscious: A 46-year-old Streetsboro man was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol March 28 at 10:38 p.m. in the parking lot of a Route 14 tavern, where the man was found "passed out" behind the wheel of his vehicle, according to a police report. The man's condition was checked by EMS, according to police, who then took the man into custody before the man was released to a family member. Police said the man did not pass field sobriety tests.

Possession of drug paraphernalia: A 44-year-old Bedford man was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol March 30 at 2:51 a.m. on Route 14. He also faces speeding, marked lane violations and possession of drug paraphernalia charges stemming from the traffic stop. Police said they stopped the vehicle because the man was speeding and swerving in and out of lanes. He was charged for both. The man failed field sobriety tests, according to police, who said they found drug paraphernalia in the man's vehicle including a marijuana pipe and a digital scale. The report did not list how fast he was going or what his blood-alcohol count was.

Burglary

TV taken: A Briar Drive resident reported March 26 at 1:31 p.m. someone entered the residence and took a $248 TV set. Police said a note was left behind, apparently by the culprit. The report did not indicate what the note said. Police said extra patrol was posted for the residents in the area.

Attempted burglary

No entry: A Summers Avenue man reported March 26 at 9:09 a.m. someone tried to break into his house but did not enter. Police said a door knob had been dented and the frame on the right side had been pulled away from the siding at the residence. Police said extra patrol was posted on the shift for that area. No property damage estimate was listed in the report.
