drug-related

Child endangering: A 26-year-old Streetsboro woman was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol April 20 at 12:26 p.m. on Route 43. Police said they stopped the vehicle because the woman failed to yield the right of way. The woman had a strong odor of alcohol, according to police, who said the woman failed field sobriety tests. The woman was also charged with child endangering because she had a 3-year-old girl in the vehicle.

Charged with OVI: A 24-year-old Willowick woman was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol April 20 at 2:10 a.m. on Route 14. Police said they stopped the vehicle because it appeared to be speeding. Police said they clocked the vehicle as traveling 57 mph, but the report did not say what the speed limit was. The woman smelled of alcohol, according to police, who said the woman failed field sobriety tests.

Possession of marijuana: An 18-year-old Streetsboro man was charged with possession of marijuana and driving under suspension April 20 at 4:49 a.m. on Route 43. Police said they stopped the vehicle because a license plate light was out. During the stop, police said the inside of the vehicle smelled like marijuana, and three small bags of suspected marijuana were found, according to the report.

Possession of drug paraphernalia: A 24-year-old Newbury man, who was a passenger in a vehicle, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia April 22 at 6:22 p.m. on Route 303. Police said they stopped the vehicle for speeding, for which a 26-year-old Garrettsville woman driver was charged. The report did not indicate how fast the vehicle was traveling. Police said there was an odor of marijuana inside the vehicle. There were two glass smoking devices containing alleged burnt marijuana residue and a partially smoked marijuana joint inside the vehicle, according to police. The woman also was charged with possession of marijuana.

Burglary

Portable heater taken: A Streetsboro woman reported a $159 portable heater from her Briar Drive home missing April 22 at 10:48 a.m. There was no reported forced entry. Police are investigating.

Theft

Cellphone stolen: A 27-year-old Streetsboro man reported April 20 at 10:11 p.m. his $300 cellphone was stolen. He reported it was last seen while he was at a Route 14 business. Police are investigating.

Merchandise missing: A 19-year-old Streetsboro woman was charged with theft April 21 at 8:32 p.m. at a Route 303 business. Store security personnel reported the alleged theft. When police arrived, they said the woman admitted taking $32 worth of pet medication without paying. The total value was $32.
