Speeding leads to OVI: A 20-year-old Walbridge man was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol April 27 at 3:31 a.m. on Route 14. Police said they stopped the vehicle because it was speeding, traveling 47 mph in a 35 mph zone, and did not stay within the marked lanes of the roadway. The man was charged with speeding and a marked lanes violation. Police said the man smelled like alcohol and failed field sobriety tests. He had a blood-alcohol count of .168, above the legal limit of .08, according to police.
Numerous medications: A 34-year-old Ravenna woman was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence of medication April 24 at 1:48 p.m. on Route 14. Police said they received multiple 911 calls about a vehicle that almost crashed head-on with several oncoming vehicles and had just pulled off to the side of the roadway. Police said they found the vehicle with the woman in the driver's seat and the engine running, on the side of Route 14 with no one else around. The woman had slurred speech, according to police, who said the woman admitted she was on numerous medications. The woman failed field sobriety tests, police said.
Wedding ring missing: A Streetsboro man reported April 29 at 4:26 p.m. a white gold wedding ring valued at $9,200 was stolen from inside his home. The man reported he had guests at his home on April 25 and said the next morning he noticed the ring was missing from inside a jewelry box in the master bedroom. Police are investigating.
Purse taken: A $250 purse was reported taken April 26 at 6:59 p.m. from a Route 43 business. The purse was later found in the middle of Route 43. Police said two suspects in the theft fled the area in a sports utility vehicle. Police are investigating.
Jewelry box stolen: A Streetsboro woman reported April 25 at 3:56 p.m. a jewelry box was missing from her parents' Greentree Parkway residence. The report did not indicate how much the jewelry box was valued at. Police are investigating.
