Police said they stopped the woman's car for speeding, for which she was also charged. The woman smelled like alcohol and failed field sobriety tests, according to police. The police report did not list the blood-alcohol count.
Slurred speech: A 41-year-old Ravenna woman was charged with driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol July 12 at 3:37 a.m. on Route 43. Police said the woman made a left-hand turn from Pike Parkway onto Route 43 without using a turn signal, for which she was also charged. The woman had glassy eyes, slurred speech and smelled like alcohol, according to police, who said the woman failed field sobriety tests. The woman declined to take a blood-alcohol test, police said.
Marked lane violations: A 23-year-old Cleveland man was charged with driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol July 12 at 9:48 p.m. on Seasons Road. Police were summoned following an anonymous call about a reckless driver. Police said they observed the vehicle commit several marked lane violations, for which the man was charged. The man smelled like alcohol and failed field sobriety tests, according to police. The man had a .133 blood-alcohol count, above the legal limit of .08, police said.
Items taken from car: A Streetsboro man reported July 16 at 10:26 a.m. an iPhone, for which no value was listed, a check book, a driver's license and $9 in cash were taken from an unlocked car on Evergreen Drive. The man reported the incident occurred overnight July 12. Police are investigating.
