Streetsboro boys basketball team beats Garfield in Garrettsville

The Streetsboro boys basketball team opened the season with a 62-49 victory over Portage Trail Conference rival James A. Garfield Nov. 30 in Garrettsville.
The Rockets (1-0) outscored the G-Men 30-18 at the half. Garfield rallied, but Streetsboro put it away by outscoring the G-Men 22-10 in the final quarter.
Jordan Matusik led the Rockets with 20 points and Devin Rencher and Brandon Gency each had 14 points for Streetsboro, which also earned a lopsided 60-21 win in the junior varsity contest.
Reggie Dublin led the Rockets JV squad with 12 points.
