Community events happening this week. 

THURSDAY, NOV. 29

Parents for Public Schools Streetsboro will host a meeting at 7 p.m. at Young Explorer’s Montessori School. The event will be the organization’s holiday party. Children will be asked to write letters to state legislators regarding public school funding. Refreshments will be provided.

SATURDAY, DEC. 1

Concerned Citizens of Ohio’s Shalersville group is hosting four speakers to discuss their experiences with hydraulic fracturing and deep drilling.

The event is taking place Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. at King of Glory Church, located at Streetsboro Plaza on Route 303 just east of Route 14.

Searching for some family-friendly Christmas fun?

The Streetsboro Community PTA may have the answer — its 2012 Holiday Connection, which takes place Dec. 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Henry Defer Intermediate School, 1895 Annalane Drive.

The free event will feature a range of activities and entertainment for all. For kids, there will be face pairing, a performance by the Defer Juggling Club, the chance to chat with Santa Claus, a Santa Shop, a visit from Clifford the Big Red Dog, food, holiday music and more.

SUNDAY, DEC. 2

Concerned Citizens Ohio/Shalersville will test well water for free Dec. 2, starting at 3:15 p.m. at the King of Glory Church in the Streetsboro Plaza, located on Route 303 in Streetsboro, just east of Route 14.
