The Streetsboro Area Chamber of Commerce will host its sixth annual Health Fair Sept. 19 from 2-6 p.m. at Robinson Health Center at Streetsboro. The event will include about 40 area businesses and organizations which will help familiarize attendees with many of the health care options available to them.
Admissision the event is free for residents and will include something of interest for all ages, including the Streetsboro Fire Department's "Smoke House," which simulates what it feels like to be in a burning house and teaches how to effectively escape a fire.
Vehicles from the Streetsboro Fire and Police departments will be on-site during the event with a special appearance by McGruff the Crime Dog.
Around 300 have attended past health fairs.
By sponsoring the health fair, the Chamber hopes both community members and area businesses will be able to learn about and begin developing relationships with area health care providers, so that, when the need arises, they know where to turn for health care help.
Some of the businesses and organizations which will be vendors are Coleman Adult Day Services, Robinson Health Center at Streetsboro, SnapFitness, Menorah Park, Maple Wood Care Centre, Fit4All, several chiropractors, Layman & Associates Inc., Love On A Leash, PartSource and more.
The event is sponsored by Walmart of Streetsboro, the Atrium of Anna Maria, PartSource, ComDoc and is hosted by Robinson Health Center at Streetsboro.
