Fairways at Twin Lakes to host after hours event
The Streetsboro Area Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the Kent Area Chamber of Commerce will host an After Hours event Sept. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Fairways at Twin Lakes, which will be offering appetizers off its new menu. A cash bar also will be available.
New to Fairways at Twin Lakes, Chef Dan Kittelson is hopes to wow attendees' taste buds. He has attended Pennsylvania Culinary in Pittsburgh, worked in restaurants, private and public golf courses in the area, and is working on a sommelier certification.
Learn to spot scams at upcoming after hours event
Scams are important for both businesses and consumers to avoid, and Streetsboro Area Chamber of Commerce members will have a chance to learn more about how the avoid business scams at a gathering Oct. 9.
The event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at TOKO Japanese Steakhouse in Streetsboro Plaza, 1619 Route 303.
Tom McGuire, an attorney from the Consumer Protection Section of the Ohio Attorney General's office, will speak to attendees at the event about common business scams, the Consumer Protection Section's resolution services and ways to spot a likely scam.

Women in Business breakfast set
for Oct. 15
The Streetsboro and Kent chambers of commerce will present Holly Ohlrich, general counsel and corporate vice presidents of human resources at Step2 Co., at its Oct. 15 Women in Business breakfast.
The event will take place at The Rusty Nail Restaurant, 7291 Route 43, from 7:30-9 a.m.
Lunch at the fire station
The Streetsboro Area Chamber of Commerce will host its Oct. 14 luncheon at the Streetsboro Fire Department.
The event will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch is served at noon. The cost is $15 a person for Chamber members and $20 for non-members.

The Streetsboro Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Streetsboro Parks & Recreation Department, will present Trunk-or-Treat Oct. 25 from 5-7 p.m. at the Streetsboro Walmart. The event has become a tradition for thousands of area residents who want a safe alternative to allowing their children to trick-or-treating in the streets.
