The Streetsboro Area Chamber of Commerce will present George McNulty of the PlayhouseSquare Foundation at its Dec. 11 luncheon, which will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Rusty Nail Restaurant, 7291 Route 43 in Kent.
McNulty will share the story of PlayhouseSquare's near demise in 1972 through its revival and renovations in the 1980s to present-day improvements.
Guests will get a video preview of the new Star Center at PlayhouseSquare, set to open in May 2014.
PlayhouseSquare currently features 10 theaters, 788 annual performances and even more events, attracting audiences larger than Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami and Houston to Cleveland's theater district.
Reservations for the luncheon will be accepted through Dec. 6 by calling 330-626-4769, emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or making reservations online at www.streetsborochamber.org. Cost is $15 for Chamber members and $20 for non-members.
