Anti-abortion activities abound
During the next couple weeks, several events will take place focusing on the need to end abortion.
On Jan. 19, the annual Diocesan Mass of Life takes place at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown. Expectant mothers, fathers and families in attendance will be invited to receive blessings for their unborn children. Following Mass will be a pasta luncheon. The public is invited and no reservations are necessary.
Then, on Jan. 22, there is a day of prayer for the legal protection of unborn children for Catholics across the nation. Help is available that day for those who need it following an abortion by calling 800-593-2273.
On Jan. 25, there is a March For Life on Washingon, D.C. planned. A group representing the Diocese of Youngstown will leave St. Charles Parish in Boardman Jan. 24 at 11 p.m. For more information, call 330-744-8451 ext. 289.
Renewal weekends approach at St. Joan
The Women's Renewal Weekend is Jan. 19 and 20, and the Men's Renewal Weekend is Jan. 26 and 27 at St. Joan of Arc Church.

Sermon series will begin
Starting Jan. 20, a four-week sermon series Sundays at 10:30 a.m. at Aurora United Methodist will focus on the challenges of living in today's "out of control" world and how the Bible teaches to live in such times.
Dinner set at Mennonite
A community dinner will be Jan. 18 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Aurora Mennonite Church. Main entree is Salisbury steak. Other coming events are: Jan. 20 -- Cub Scouts at 5 p.m.; Jan. 22 -- pastors' fellowship at noon; Jan. 23 -- senior fellowshilp lunch at 11:30 a.m. at Hattie's Cafe in Hudson; Jan. 24 -- Cub Scouts in 7 p.m.; Feb. 10 -- regional pastor Ralph Reinford to speak.
CCC seeks moms, men
Moms Together will meet Jan. 17 at 9:15 a.m. at Christ Community Chapel in Aurora. Speaker will be Jessie Prentiss, creator of the Gleaner's Guild ministry. Ten to 12 men are needed to launch a Christian Leadership Concepts group. For details or to register, visit www.auroraccchapel.com/men.
