Streetsboro's United Methodist Women plan outing Oct. 5

The Streetsboro United Methodist Women's annual meeting will take place Oct. 5.

Attendees should meet at the church, located near the corner of Route 43 and Seasons Road, at 8:45 a.m. From there, attendees will car pool.

Stops on the trip include a 10 a.m. stop at Kirtland Temple, which was built between 1833 and 1836; lunch at Rider's Tavern in Painesville, which was a stage coach stop, part of the Underground Railroad during the Civil War, and was built in 1812; and a visit to the James A. Garfield Home in Mentor at 2:15 p.m.

The Garfield Home was built in 1834. James A. Garfield was president for 200 days in 1881 before he was assassinated.
