Chardon church leader to speak on gun violence at St. Joan of Arc in Streetsboro

One of the hot button issues in society today is the proliferation and use of guns as a tool to inflict physical and emotional damage on others. The shootings in Sandy Hook, Conn.; Aurora, Colo.; and much closer to home, Chardon High School are a few examples of this trend.

St. Joan of Arc Parish will welcome The Rev. Fr. Dan Redmond, the pastor of St. Mary Parish in Chardon, who will speak May 19 at 7 p.m. at St Joan of Arc Church, 8894 Route 14. Redmond will share his firsthand account of how gun violence has affected his community. Redmond will also offer insight into the church's position on gun control.
