More than five years ago, at the age of 34, Laura Simpson of Broadview Heights received life changing news. Seemingly out of the blue, she was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer that had metastasized to her liver.
Because she has been unable to work, paying rising medical bills has been an issue for Simpson; as a result, her family, friends, and loved ones will be holding a benefit for her on Oct. 5 at 5:30 p.m. at the Stringz and Wingz in Streetsboro. A spaghetti dinner, Chinese auction, $2/$5 boards, and 50/50 raffle are planned.
