Portage County's 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over' under way

Portage County Safe Communities has teamed up with local business partners to promote traffic safety during the holiday season.

The "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" Holiday Campaign runs through Jan. 1, resulting in aggressive enforcement and increased education on the dangers of driving while intoxicated throughout Portage County.

Guido's of Ravenna is promoting the campaign by attaching reminder tags to drive sober and Mother's Against Drunk Driving red ribbons on carry out orders.

Classic Honda of Streetsboro has placed tags on their new and used vehicles.

"It's plain -- it's simple," says Lynette Blasiman, director of Portage County Safe Communities. "If you're going to drink, don't drive. Your choice to drive sober can be the difference between life and death for yourself and everyone else on the roadways," she said.
