P90X/CardioX live fitness class offered

This is a fun and functional cardio workout that will improve each person's total body strength, core strength and balance while burning weight and losing inches. Whether a person is just beginning his or her fitness journey or is a seasoned competitor, this is a worthwhile class. Cost is $45 per session. Location is City Hall. Session 1 is from Jan. 8 to Feb. 1 on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 to 11 a.m. For more information, call 330-626-3802.

Ice skating trip set for Feb. 9

Thirteen- through 16-year- olds are invited to travel to Cuyahoga Falls to ice skate at the city's outdoor rink Feb. 9. A bus will depart Streetsboro City Hall at 11:30 a.m. and return around 4:30 p.m. to City Hall.

Cost is $10 per person, plus $4 for skate rental, if applicable. Register by calling the Streetsboro Parks & Recreation Department by Jan. 31.

Hip-hop, jazz dance class offered

Children age 6 to 8 are invited to learn hip hop and jazz dance. Dancers will learn quick moving dance routines using hip hop and jazz combinations. They should wear clothes that are easy to move in, as well as socks or jazz or hip hop dancing shoes. There will be a performance on the last day of class. Classes meet Feb. 6 to March 6 on Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. Cost is $20. Register by Jan. 24.

Snowman contest under way

The Streetsboro Parks & Recreation Department is inviting residents to show off their best snowman making skills in a contest, which runs through March 15. To submit an entry, send a photo of the snowman along with whoever made the snowman to Adam Apinis in the Parks & Recreation Department at aapinis@cityofstreetsboro.com. After the March 15 deadline, Mayor Glenn Broska will select a winner, who has a chance to appear on the cover of an upcoming Streetsboro Parks & Recreation Department program guide.

Pinterest favorites

For anyone age 16 and up, the Streetsboro Parks & Recreation Department is offering Pinterest gatherings on Thursdays from 6-7 p.m. from Feb. 6 through March 13. Topics will include body scrubs, lip balms, laundry soap and shaving cream, sugar scrub recipes, epsom salt luminaries and votive candle luminaries. Call 330-626-3802 for additional information.
