Display on historic family at library

An exhibit on the Russell family, one of Streetsboro's earliest, is on display at the Pierce-Streetsboro Library during the month of April.

The display includes tin types of the Russell family dating to the 1840s.

Also featured is Sarah Russell's diary from the years 1864-68, which includes thoughts on the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. Her father, a Democrat, was not a fan of Lincoln, and Sarah Russell seemed to share his ideas, according to Sarah Fast, president of the Streetsboro Heritage Foundation.

The display also includes a letter written to Sarah Russell from her father the week after the Lincoln assassination.
