Streetsboro Theatre auditions begin July 1

Published:

Streetsboro Theatre, under Director Jim Boardwine, will hold auditions for several shows July 1 and 2 at 7 p.m. each night at Streetsboro High School.

Auditions are for this year's fall extravaganza, "This is Halloween," which is set for Oct. 25 and 26, and the spring comedy, "The Brothers Grimm Speculathon," which will be presented May 9 and 10, 2015.

The May 9 show is at 7 p.m., and the May 10 show is at 2 p.m. The fall show is at 7 p.m. Oct. 25 and 2 p.m. Oct. 26. All four shows are at Streetsboro High School.

Auditions for a feature film also are scheduled for July 1 and 2. The film, "Welcome to Wonderland," will be produced in partnership with nine-time Emmy Award winner Shawn Rech of PinPoint Media. The shooting schedule has yet to be determined, but a release of the movie is planned for winter 2015.

Video submissions for the first round of auditions will be accepted in lieu of a personal appearance to help accommodate those on vacation. Streetsboro Theatre is seeking actors, singers, musicians, rappers and dancers for the three productions.

For the first round of auditions, actors should prepare two contrasting 30- to 60-second monologues. Vocalists, musicians and dances need to prepare two contrasting songs or routines, each 45 to 90 second long.
