A fall soccer program for 4-year-olds through second-graders will begin Aug. 23 with practice. Those who sign up for the program by July 25 get $10 off the regular $55 registration fee.
This program is geared to teach children the fundamentals, sportsmanship and the basic rules of soccer. Games and practices will take place behind City Hall. The season will consist of weekly practices on weeknights and games on the Saturday mornings. Each participant will receive a T-shirt and must wear shin guards under the socks and soccer cleats or tennis shoes. All games are anticipated to be officiated by referees. Kindergarten children who have played at least one season are eligible to play in Division 2, the older division. Younger children will be in Division 1. Volunteer coaches are needed.
A coaches meeting is set for Aug. 18 at 5:45 p.m. at City Hall.
