Author and chef Bev Shaffer will appear at the Pierce- Streetsboro branch of Portage County District Library Dec. 9 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. She will make a presentation, have a dessert tasting, take questions and sell her latest book, "Chocolate Desserts to Die For!"
This event, sponsored by the Friends of the Pierce- Streetsboro Library, is free and open to the public. Registration is requested by calling the library at 330-626-4458. The event will be in the library's meeting room at 8990 Kirby Lane.
Celebration planned for 25th anniversary
On Dec. 10, in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Pierce-Streetsboro branch of Portage County District Library, the library will serve light refreshments and display pictures of the library from the last 25 years.
The library is open on Mondays and Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The library is closed on Thursdays and Sundays.
