Defer students to present African folk tale April 16

The Defer Music Ensemble will present "Why the Sun and the Moon Live in the Sky" April 16 at 7 p.m. in the gymnasium at Henry Defer Intermediate School, 1895 Annalane Drive.

The show, based on an African folk tale, will feature singing, instrumental music, dancing and lots of costumes. Children will portray animals, celestial bodies and deities during the show.

The show, which runs about a half hour, also will be presented at 9:30 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. April 17. If they can, parents are encouraged to attend the Wednesday evening show, but the daytime shows are available for those with second shift jobs.
