ANTIC, INC. CLOS-
ES ITS 2012 SEASON WITH THE COMEDIC FARCE "FATHER OF THE BRIDE."
The show, which opens Nov. 9, follows Stanley Banks (Larry McWilliams) as his only daughter, Kay (Molly Ann), announces to her family one morning at breakfast that she is about to be married. Mother Ellie (Lynn A. Brown), brother Ben (Ryan Dyke) and brother Tommy (Regina McWilliams) greet the news with more enthusiasm than Stanley.
When Kay's fiancee Buckley (Mike Hazel) arrives to meet the family and announces he and Kay would like a small wedding, Stanley starts to hope things might not be so bad.
Stanley's hope doesn't last long as housekeeper Delilah (Karen Sauerbrey) is busy with presents and phone calls. When Stanley calls in his secretary Miss Bellamy (Linda Knight) to help sort out the guest list, a family feud soon erupts. The arrival of the wedding coordinator Massoula (Matthew Smith) and his circulation planner Joe (Matthew Wilks) add to the tension placed on poor Stanley. Ben's girlfriend Peggy (Sarah Price) provides Stanley with some relief, but that soon disappears.
As the wedding date grows closer, the Banks household is taken over by Massoula's men Red (Tom Nahodil) and Pete (Ben Hammer), Miss Pulitzki, (Bella Fothergill )the dressmaker, and the florist's helper (Leah Ferencak). Stanley faces financial ruin as the guest list grows, and the pressure mounts.
The dream of a storybook wedding for Kay and Buckley is in real danger.
The show is directed by Kristen Smith.
