Boot Camp and Athletics

The center is offering summer camp for ages 3 through 15. There will be having boot camp athletics in the morning with healthy cooking, eating, and choices throughout the days. Field trips to the park, hiking, bowling,and much more. Physical Education teachers will be there to help facilitate program. The camp will be open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The center also will also have summer enrichment in reading and math daily along with social and creative lessons with plays, story telling, and more.

Youth Sport -Day Camp

When: June 17-21, and/or June 24-28

Skyhawks provides a wide variety of fun, safe and positive programs that emphasize critical lessons in sports and life, such as teamwork, respect and sportsmanship. The programs are designed to give each child a positive introduction into sports while fostering a lifelong love for an active, healthy lifestyle. Participants should bring appropriate clothing, two snacks (for programs four hours or less) or a lunch and snack (for programs over four hours), a water bottle, running shoes and sunscreen. Parents should put their child's name and phone number on all personal belongings.

Camps are available for children ages 3 through 16. Sports include soccer, basketball, flag football, golf, track and field, volleyball and cheerleading.

For girls ages 7 through 16, and the camps run from 10 a.m. to noon. Players will receive professional volleyball instruction from former and current college coaches and players in the fundamental skills they will need to excel at any level; with more intensive instruction and skill-work for more advanced players.

Week-long noncompetitive sports camps for children ages 4 through 14. Children bring their own lunch except for Fridays when the children have an option of bring their own lunch or participating in "pizza day" for an extra fee. Camp activities include archery, baseball, basketball, canoeing, compass reading, leadership/team building, outdoor education/survival skills, football, frisbee, golf, kickball, lacrosse, rappelling, soccer, softball, floor hockey, tee-ball, tennis, track and field, volleyball and water activities.

Hudson Community Education and Recreation is offering a variety of sports camps for a wide range of ages and abilities. Camps include:

All Sports Camps by Blue Streak (ages preschool - 10th grade) This popular non-competitive sport and activity camp offers a variety of sports and outdoor adventures every day of the week. Try canoeing, hiking, fishing, biking, and repelling, combined with traditional sports like baseball, basketball, football, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, track and swimming. Campers are grouped by age. Camp meets nine weeks of the summer, beginning June 10 and ending Aug. 9 at East Woods School. Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Choose one week, two, or more. Discount if registering for more than 6 weeks. Half day options also available. Full Day rate: $220, half day rate, $110. Six weeks or more $175 full day, $90 half day.

Jump Start Sports (Grades 1-6) Your child will enjoy a sport theme each week, followed by an afternoon of activities ranging from hikes, bike rides, swimming, horseback riding and much more. Each Friday there is an awesome field trip! Sessions are as follows: June 10-14 Baseball; June 17-21 Soccer; June 24-28 Basketball/Cheerleading; July 1-3 Golf (no camp on 7/4 or 7/5 and reduced camp fee); July 8-12 Football/Cheerleading; July 15-19 Lacrosse (note this camp is at McDowell) and July 22-26 Olympics individual sports and July 29- Aug. 2 Olympics team sports. Camp meets from 9 a.m. to 3p.m. at Hudson Middle School. Before and after camp care is available. Early bird rate is $135/week full day and $100 /week half day. Boys Basketball Camp (Grades 1-4) with Varsity Coaches - Join Coach Brink for development and refinement of fundamental basketball skills, as well as five on five games, in a positive environment. Camp meets June 24-28, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at Hudson High School. $110.

Boys Skillbuilders Basketball Camp (Grades 5-9) Camp emphasizes development of basketball skills in a positive, fun environment. Five on five games as well as individual skill development activities are included. Camp meets July 8 - 12, from 9 a.m. to Noon at Hudson High School. $110 .($125 after June 8)

High Performance Basketball Camp (Grades 6-9) with Coach Jeff Brink- Designed for the experienced player who wants a competitive camp. Emphasis is on more sophisticated skill development and competitive situations and includes contests, shooting, ball handling and team activities. Camp meets June 24-28 from 8:30 -11:30 a.m. at Hudson High School. $110. ($125 after May 18)

High Pressure Shooting Camp (Grades 6-12) This new camp is about making that shot under pressure, highlighting shooting and ball handling fundamentals, as well as shooting drills and contests to improve shooting ability. Camp meets Wednesdays, June 12-July 10 (no camp July 4) from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Hudson High School. $100 ($125 after 5/30).

Girls Volleyball Camp (Grades 3-8) This camp helps girls to improve their volleyball skills while learning the game of volleyball. Camp will focus on passing, setting, serving, hitting and blocking. Also campers will be taught the essential elements of offense and defense, including serve reception, teamwork, proper court communication and court awareness. Camp meets July 19-21 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Hudson High School. $90. ($115 after June 9)

Girls Softball Camp (Grades 2-6) Girls will work on softball skills including throwing, catching, pitching and hitting. This camp will also cover strategy and moving to the next level of your game. Directed by Varsity Softball Coach Beth Cinadr. Camp meets Monday - Friday, July 8-11 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Barlow Farm Park Fields. $100. ($125 after 5/17).

Boys Baseball Camp (Grades 3-8) Join Coach Buddy Dice as campers enhance their skills in all areas of the game with a special emphasis on throwing, catching, hitting, bunting and fielding. Campers participate in daily games and contests. Camp meets Monday - Friday, June 17-21 from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m. at Hudson High School Ballpark. Full Day camp $160 ($175 after May 25)

Boys Lacrosse Camp (Grades 2-9) Join State Champion Coach David Blue for this camp focused on skill development and fun. Players will be grouped in three divisions according to age and skill. Small field games, as well as daily competitions make for a great week. Camp meets Monday - Thursday, June 10-13 from 9 a.m. to Noon. (camp ends at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday). Meet at Hudson Varsity Field House. $100.($125 after 5/19)

Girls Field Hockey Camp (Grades 2-9) Join the fun that is the game of field hockey with Varsity Coach Jen Haney. Focus of camp will be on developing sound fundamental concepts and improving field awareness, stick work, passing, shooting and defensive skills. Fun games, team tournament play and low player to coach ratio. Camp meets Monday - Thursday, June 17-20 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Laflin Field, behind Hudson Middle School. $100 ($125 after 5/18)

Field Hockey Competitive Training Camp (Grades 7-12) This high intensity camp is designed for the middle school and high school field hockey player. Test your abilities in stick skills, passing, shooting and defensive play. Not for the recreational player. Camp meets Monday - Wednesday, July 29-31, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Laflin Field, Hudson Middle School. $90.($100 after 7/6)

Girls Lacrosse Camp (Grades 3-8) Join varsity coach Joya Mitchell for this exciting camp focusing on basic stick skills, rules and knowledge of the game as well as some positioning and leadership skills. Camp meets June 24-27 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Hudson Middle School fields. $100. ($125 after 6/15).

Soccer Camp (Boys and Girls Grades 1-6) This camp emphasizes soccer techniques, tactics, and total player development. The goal of the camp is to maximize the time with the ball and emphasize the fun of learning soccer. Camp meets July 22-26 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Hudson Middle School fields. $100.

Future Lady Explorer Soccer Camp (Grades K-6) Join Coach Costa Kalorides as he and his team help develop the campers' footwork, team play, field vision and so much more. This is a great camp for beginner or advanced players. The camp will be at Hudson Varsity Field House, dates to be determined. $100.

Hudson Football Camp at Malson Field (Grades 3-9) Join Hudson Varsity Coach Ron Wright and his team for a full day football camp that emphasizes skill development, leadership and fun. Players grouped by age with instruction including weight lifting, individual and team competitions and competitive games. Visit from an NFL player. Camp meets July 15-19 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m (Friday ends at 1 p.m.) . at Hudson Middle School. $160. ($175 after June 15)

Track and Field Camp (Grades 3-9) Join Coach Ken Fisher as he instructs campers on the finer points of track and field. Focuses on running track and field events, cross country or just enjoying the activity of running. Camp meets July 22-26 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Lavelli Stadium. $100 ($125 after June 21)

Girls Varsity Basketball Camp (Grades 3-9) Join Varsity Coach Dennis Lawler for this camp which emphasizes individual and team skills that players will use while playing for Hudson Middle School and Hudson High School. Daily competitions and the chance to work with Hudson varsity players are included. Camp meets Monday-Thursday, June 10-13, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Hudson High School. $100. ($125 after May 18).

Cheerleading Camp (Grades 2-9) Join varsity cheer coach Julie Haines for a spirited week. The camp will focus on motion technique, jumps, dance, cheers, the Hudson Fight Song and more! Campers will be divided into groups according to age and skill. Camp meets Monday-Thursday, June 10-13, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Hudson Middle School Commons and Lavelli Field. $100. ($125 after May 18).

Wrestling Camp (Grades 2-6) Join Coach Joe Caniglia and his team to learn the finer points of wrestling. Campers will work on beginning moves as well as medium paced review of basic wrestling skills and techniques, including takedowns, ridings, pinning and reversals. Camp meets Monday - Thursday, June 17-20 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Hudson High School. $100. ($125 after May 17).

Middle School/Junior Varsity Camps - This camp will continue to develop the fundamentals and introduces new concepts, including strengthening, consistency, spin development, serve and return skills. This camp will prepare players for tournament play as well as high school play. Camp meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday, June 10 - 28 or July 1-22 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Hudson High School Tennis Courts. $135

Elite Ranked Varsity Players - This training will serve our varsity tournament ranked players and will be directed by Tim Morgan, USPTA and staff. Emphasis will be on live ball drills, strategy, conditioning and match play. Camp meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 11-27 or July 2 - 23 from 2 to 4:00 p.m.at Hudson High School Tennis Courts. $240

USA Tennis 123 (Grades 2-6 and 6-10) This program is for both intermediate and beginning players. Emphasis will be on introducing modern tennis concepts through creative drills and active games. Camp for Grades 2-6 meets Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, June 10-28 or July 1-22, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Grades 6-10 meet same dates, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. all at Hudson High School tennis courts. $135

Girls Preseason Tennis Camp (High School Players) The Hudson High School coaching staff will direct this program. Players can fine tune their strokes, and learn more about doubles play. Camp meets Monday - Friday, July 25-Aug. 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hudson High School tennis courts, $150.

Hudson Golf Junior Golf Academy (Grades 4-9) This program is based on the PGA of America Sports Academy. It will focus on five areas: putting, chipping, iron play, driving and on course play. Program dates will be determined. At the Country Club of Hudson. $95.

Skateboarding Camp (Ages 6-12) Come learn how to use your skateboard to the fullest. You will learn how to safely do boarding tricks. Camp meets July 22-25 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. or July 22-25 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. all at Veteran's Parkway Skate Park. $68.

Target Style Archery Camp - (Grades 6-12) This camp is for those students who have participated in the Archery Club at Hudson High School. This class will help keep your skills sharp, and improve your shot selection, positioning, stance and accuracy. Camp meets June 17-20 from 9 to 9:40 a.m. at Hudson High School. $55.

Foil Fencing Camp (Ages 8 and above) Join the fun as we introduce the fundamentals of modern foil fencing, including stretching, footwork, lunges, attack, parry-riposte, strategy, tactics, techniques and bouting. Camp will meet at East Woods, dates to be determined. $98

Horseback Riding Camp - (Ages 6-Adult) Beginner, Advanced Beginner and Intermediate: Become active learning riders, who will be capable of riding independently on the flat , over small fences and in the open. Learn about caring for horses too. Camp is offered 3 different sessions, June 10-14, July 15-19 or August 12-16 from 9a .m. to 1 p.m.. Fee $299. (non refundable).

Basketball Skills with Johnny Rondo - Join Coach Johnny for this program to reinforce the fundamentals and encourage kids to play basketball. Camp focuses on leadership skills along with basketball handling and shooting skills. Three sessions are offered, Monday - Friday June 17-21 at either 10 -11:30 a.m. or noon to 1:30 p.m. for $65. Two other sessions meet Monday and Wednesdays , 1 to 2:30 p.m. or 2:30 to 4 p.m. on July 22-31 or Aug. 5-14, for $55 per session. at Ellsworth Hill Gym.

Summer Flag Football (Grades K-3) Children grades K-3 have a blast learning the basics of football. Players are grouped by age, coached at their level of understanding and play fun, low competition games under adult supervision. Players will learn the basics of offense and defense and will be introduced to speed and agility training. Program meets Sunday afternoons, June 16 to July 21 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at East Woods. $80, includes jersey.

Horseback Riding Camp (Ages 6-adult): Hudson Equestrian Center offers an opportunity to become an active learning rider will be capable of riding independently, as well as become horsemen who are familiar with the basics of nutrition and daily care of horse and equipment. Camp meets Monday - Friday, July 15-19 or Aug. 12-16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. $299 per week.

Summer Youth Golf (Ages 10-14) Success in golf depends on learning to play correctly from the start. Have fun while learning the fundamentals of golf. Learn golf terms, etiquette, pre-swing and in-swing techniques, chipping and putting. Program meets Wednesdays, June 12-July 10 (Tee times set after registration) at Ellsworth Meadows Golf course. $75.($90 after June 2).

Pre School Sports by Blue Streak Sports - Campers can try different sports each day. Taught by teachers, this camp features an introduction to everything from golf to basketball to football to track as well as tag, treasure hunting and more. Camp meets June 10- Aug. 9, 9 am. to 11:30 am. $90 per week, at East Woods. Chose one, two or as many weeks as you want.

Lets Get Growing Preschool Camp: Budding young scientists will study plants and how they grow. With hands on activities games, snacks and fun! Monday - Friday, June 17-21, 9 a.m. to noon at East Woods. $165.

Hummingbirds Soccer (Ages 3-6). Join Jump Start Sports for this fun program to learn the basics of soccer. Fundamentals include dribbling, positioning, trapping and shooting. Mondays, June 10 - July 22, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at East Woods fields.

Horseback Riding Babes: A unique program that introduces riding and horsemanship, and encourages the love of horses. Program meets Monday - Friday, June 10 -14, from 1 to 2 p.m.. at Hudson Equestrian Center. $160 (non refundable).

Quick Start Tennis (Ages 4, 5, 6) Designed for players interested in learning the game of tennis, using age appropriate equipment. Camp includes both individual skills and team skills. Camp meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday June 10 - June 28, or July 8 - July 22 from 9 to 10 a.m. at Hudson High School tennis courts. $95.

Hudson Munchkin Volleyball Camp (Grades K-2, boys and girls) For those who have never picked up a volleyball, to those who have watched their older siblings play at various tournaments, this is the class for your child. Camp will focus on he the basic fundamentals of volleyball - pass, set take a correct approach jump, hit, serve and even blocking footwork. Taught by Hudson Varsity Volleyball Coach, Jessica Pompei and staff. Camp is July 16-18, 4 -5 p.m. at Hudson High School. $55, (after June 9 $70).

Tee Birds Tee Ball: (Ages 3, 4, 5) Instructional tee ball for your preschoolers. Players learn the basics of catching, fielding, throwing and hitting. Then they will apply what they learned in fun, non-competitive games. New this year, you choose the day, Friday or Saturday. Games are Friday 5:30 to 6:30 or 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday games are 1 to 2 p.m. or 2 to 3 p.m. all at Oak Grove Fields, in Hudson. $80, includes MLB hat, T-shirt and medal.
