Young Actors Studio brings 'Little Mermaid Jr.' onto its stage

Published:

Students of Young Actors Studio in grades second through 12 will perform the classic Disney tale of "The Little Mermaid Jr." This musical is about a 16 year old mermaid princess named Ariel, who is unhappy with her life under the sea because she is very curious about the human world. Since her father, King Triton, refuses to discuss humans with Ariel, she makes a dangerous deal with Ursula the Sea Witch. Ariel decides to trade her beautiful voice to Ursula for a pair of human legs. However, in order to remain human, Ariel must get the handsome Prince Eric to kiss her within three days. If he doesn't, Ariel will belong to Ursula forever and the undersea world will be under her evil control. With the help of her best friends, Flounder, Scuttle, and Sebastian, Ariel is able to find happiness and live the life of her dreams. Performance dates are April 9, 11, and 12 at 7 p.m., with an additional matinee on April 12 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8 each and can be purchased by calling Young Actors Studio at 330-653-8525 or through their website at www.youngactorsstudio.net. Young Actors Studio is at 86 Owen Brown Street in Hudson.
