Ballet Theatre of Ohio takes audience to world of 'Oz'

Little girls in blue gingham and ruby-colored shoes could be seen throughout the Akron Civic Theatre, all dressed up for Ballet Theatre of Ohio's performance of "The Wizard of Oz" at the May 3 matinee.

The ballet itself, which featured Dorothy and her friends as they ventured to the Emerald City, also had tap-dancing crows, cute Munchkins, lovely poppies and more. Guests at the theater could find activities beforehand as well, with passports and small prizes given out to younger guests, and the opportunity to walk through the story on the second floor of the theater. Afterward, dancers posed with guests for pictures.
