Free water testing offered by Concerned Citizens

Published:

Concerned Citizens Ohio/Shalersville will test well water for free Dec. 2, starting at 3:15 p.m. at the King of Glory Church in the Streetsboro Plaza, located on Route 303 in Streetsboro, just east of Route 14.

This free water test is not EPA certified. Its purpose is to give residents baseline test result so potential contamination from drilling for natural gas can be detected before health impacts occur.

Homeowners with wells from Shalersville, Mantua, Hiram, Nelson, Windham, Kent, Streetsboro and any other municipalities are invited to bring their water for testing.

Water should be drawn before treatment by a water softener or heater close to the well. Bring two cups of water in a clean glass container with a clean lid. Allow the water to run for 3 minutes before collecting the sample.

Because of the large number of people seeking testing, an additional team of testers will be on hand at the church to test water.

This free testing takes place on the first Sunday of every month at the same location. For further information, call 330-472-8086.
