A Streetsboro man has been sentenced to two years in prison and labeled a sex offender after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a teenage girl at his residence.

Stevan L. Fair, 42, recently was sentenced by Portage County Common Pleas Judge John Enlow. The judge labeled Fair a Tier I sex offender -- requiring him to register his address with his local sheriff's office once a year for 15 years -- based on his Oct. 23 guilty plea to one count of gross sexual imposition, a third-degree felony.

Fair received credit for 109 days served in the Portage County jail awaiting trial. He faced a maximum of up to five years in prison for the crime, which occurred July 6 at his Streetsboro residence.

Fair was indicted by a Portage County grand jury Aug. 10 and charged with two counts of rape, both first-degree felonies, two counts of gross sexual imposition and one count of sexual battery, all third-degree felonies.

Streetsboro police alleged that Fair sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl whose ability to consent to or resist sexual conduct was "substantially impaired," according to his indictment.
