Portage Animal Protective League is hoping holiday wishes will come true for some of its homeless animals this season. So to show its gratitude, the agency is giving away a new blanket, toy and treats with each adoption. Also, the first 12 cat adopters will get a Martha Stewart cat scratcher. This promotion runs through the end of December.
"Especially around the holidays (and all year) we wish for these sweet, homeless animals to be in warm, loving, fur-ever homes," said Chalan Lowry, executive director. "Holidays can be a busy time for some, but for others may have a few extra days off work and have more time to spend with a new pet. The more animals we find homes for, the more animals we can take in."
All dogs and cats adopted are up to date on vaccines, spayed or neutered, checked for appropriate disease and free of fleas and worms. Many are also microchipped and have an additional medical history. Adoption fees are $50 for cats and $150 for dogs.
