School Board may begin televising regular meetings

Streetsboro -- School Board members may begin recording their meetings for people who are unable to make it in person.

"I'm not sure we would need a physical person behind a camera. I envision having a static camera mounted somewhere in the room," said School Board President Denise Baba.

According to Board members, the videos could be posted on the school district's website so people can watch at their leisure if unable to attend the meetings.

"The high school audio and visual team could possibly film the meetings," said School Board member Cynthia Pennock-Hanish. "The students could edit the videos and put them on the school's Channel 16."

Board members are still debating how they want to film the meetings.

"We will figure out concerns for best picture and sound quality," said Baba. "We will try a couple models at our next meetings."

According to the School Board, the videos would not be implemented until the summer when the meetings will be smaller and figuring out how to go about the recordings will be easier.

According to Baba, an estimated cost is unknown at this time.
