Class for family coping with mental illness

Published:

Have a family member, loved one or friend with mental illness? The Portage County Family-to-Family Education Program, which starts a new session March 16 in Aurora, can help families and individuals cope with challenges.

The national program provides families with up-to-date information about mental illnesses, treatments, medications, services and more. Participants hear familiar stories and see familiar problems among class members while also sharing information and hope. The class is taught by area residents who have a family member with mental illness.

Classes will run for 12 weeks meeting Saturday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to noon at The Church in Aurora, 146 S. Chillicothe Road, Aurora. To sign up, call Laura 330-673-1756, ext. 201, or email her at laurab@mental-health-recovery.org by March 14.
