Survey to offer chance to help plan city's growth

The city of Streetsboro is in the process of updating its 2009 master plan and was scheduled to post a citizens' survey online March 12 at www.cityofstreetsboro.com.

The master plan review committee is working to analyze existing land uses and formulating goals and policy suggestions that will guide the city's future development.

The city created the survey to solicit input from individuals living or working in the city. Citizen input provided through completion of the survey is essential in determining the direction of development in the city. The 30 question survey is very similar to the one administered for the 2009 master planning process to gauge changing perception of similar elements over time.

The survey includes a combination of personal questions geared toward gaining an understanding of respondents' demographic characteristics, such as gender, age, occupation, household income, distance of commute to work, and questions seeking citizens' perceptions about existing services, characteristics of the city and future wants and needs. Participating citizens they have an active role in shaping Streetsboro's future.

The survey will be administered via Constant Contact with access to the survey posted on the homepage of the city's web site, www.cityofstreetsboro.com, and Streetsboro's Facebook page. The survey will be available for 30 days beginning March 12. That the survey will be limited to one response per computer to ensure equal participation.

The Master Plan Review Committee is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. March 13 at City Hall, 9184 Route 43.
