Streetsboro School Board president named to statewide post

Streetsboro City Board of Education President Denise Baba has been named to the Ohio School Boards Association's Board of Trustees.

Baba was sworn in during a recent trustees’ meeting at OSBA’s Columbus headquarters.

The Board of Trustees is the main governing body of the association, composed of the eight-member executive committee, representatives from Ohio’s six largest school districts and 18 representatives selected by OSBA’s five regional associations.

Baba, a Streetsboro Board of Education member for seven years, also serves on OSBA’s Federal Relations Network, Capital Conference Planning Task Force and Board Member Cabinet. She is OSBA Northeast Region president-elect and serves on the region’s Executive Committee.

In its 58th year, the Ohio School Boards Association leads the way to educational excellence by serving Ohio’s public school board members and the diverse districts they represent through superior services, unwavering advocacy and creative solutions.

  • When she is going to be making all the trips to Columbus or where ever it is they meet, who will be footing the expense?  Our district, the OSBA or Ms. Baba?  Where was that question and answer in the article?  Can you reply to all Ms. Baba?

  • OSBA training dictates that everyone speak in "one voice," even if there are differing opinions. I wonder what our founders would have thought of that philosophy.
