Record-Courier, Community Job Club to host rally for job seekers

Nationally renowned career expert and motivational speaker Abby Kohut brings job search success tour to Kent

KENT - The Record-Courier and Community Job Club welcome Abby Kohut and her Abby Across America Job Search Tour to Kent. This fun and informative event will take place on Thursday, Aug. 29, from noon to 2 p.m. in the Record Courier parking lot at 1050 West Main St. in Kent. It is open to the public, and local employers are invited to distribute applications and meet area job seekers.

Kohut, whose mission is to educate job seekers and get Americans back to work, will present "Things you don't know about finding a job." Known as Absolutely Abby, she has spoken before hundreds of job search groups and written two books filled with job search success tips. Her presentation will include tips on the most effective ways to get employed.

Other guest speakers will include Portage County Commissioner Kathleen Chandler, Eric Kramer, author of "Active Interviewing" and Jason Alba, who wrote "I'm on LinkedIn, Now What?" Kramer and Alba will appear remotely via a large projection screen to discuss other aspects of job seeking. Ben Seigel, deputy director of the Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships in Washington, DC, will also address participants with "Let's Work Now" words of encouragement.
