Two Streetsboro residents were indicted for illegal manufacture of drugs, both second-degree felonies, Aug. 30 by the Portage County Grand Jury.
On Sept. 4, Portage County Drug Task Force agents entered a home at 697 Crownwood Court in Streetsboro and arrested Jeremy Brown, 36, and Danielle Ury, 32, both of Streetsboro.
“They entered the home and could see a smoky haze in the air and could smell a strong odor of chemicals,” states the news release from the Streetsboro Police. “They also found a 3-year-old child in the home.”
After evacuating the home, Portage County Drug Task Force agents re-entered the home in protective gear and founding a working meth lab.
Because of the child being in the home at the time the drugs were allegedly being manufactured, Brown and Ury were charged with additional illegal manufacture of drugs charges that are first-degree felonies, states the news release.
The 3-year-old and Brown and Ury’s other children, who were not home at the time of arrest, were placed with Portage County Jobs and Services.
On May 15, the Portage County Drug Task Force had conducted a search at the Crownwood Court home and uncovered materials related to the manufacture of methamphetamine, which it forwarded on to the Portage County Grand Jury.
Both Brown and Ury are awaiting arraignment.
