Blast off into fall at the inaugural Rocket Dog Fall Festival on Sept. 15 from 3-6 p.m. at Streetsboro High School. Euclid Beach's famous Rocket Car will be the featured attraction at the event. You can purchase tickets for a ride on the Rocket Car for $5 per person. Attendees can also enjoy the live music, games and crafts. Hot dogs, bratwursts, walking tacos and desserts will be available along with raffle baskets.
Cash and credit cards will be accepted for payment. Rocket Dog Fall Festival is being hosted by Parents for Public School Streetsboro as a fundraiser for the Streetsboro School Levy Committee. Any new residents in Streetsboro are welcome to stop by the voter registration table. Rockets, it's time to get your walking shoes on! The first annual Walk-a-Thon is set for Sept. 20 for students at Campus Elementary School. Organizers are hoping the event will be a success, so it can be the only major fundraiser of the year for the second- and third-grade students. One hundred percent of the funds students raise will directly benefit the school.
"Instead of sending home fundraising catalogs, we wanted to try something different this year," said PTA Campus Vice President Heather Gawne. "This gives the kids an opportunity to exercise and have fun with their friends while raising money for their school."
This years' main focus is to purchase technology, specifically iPads and document cameras, for classroom use. Proceeds will also be used to help with educational materials, student activities and student incentives.
Students will be asking for a single donation, and it is not based on laps or minutes walked. Donations are tax-deductible. Checks can be made payable to Campus Elementary School.
