Despite Craiglist listing, Streetsboro’s Stringz & Wingz not for sale

Owner calls posting of advertisement ‘internal misunderstanding’ and deletes listing

A Craigslist classified ad last week indicating Stringz & Wingz was for sale was in error.

The listing circulated Streetsboro’s Facebook scene and has since been removed from Craigslist by Stringz & Wingz Owner Chef Bill Thompson.

He said the incident was an “internal misunderstanding” and that the sports bar and entertainment venue is not for sale. The Craiglist listing, he said, wasn’t approved by him and was only intended as a way of “testing the waters.”

“I’m not actively looking for a buyer,” he said.

There are no plans to move in the foreseeable future, he added.

“All of 2014 is booked for the year, at least every Saturday and first Friday of the month,” he said.

Thompson said he moved into the Streetsboro Plaza location in April 2012 and had been located in the current Chuggers location in Market Square Plaza for about two years prior to the move.

Thompson said if he does move, it would be to another location in Streetsboro.

“I’m so embedded in the community,” he said. “This is where all my family and clientele is.”

In addition the facility’s usual slate of entertainment, Stringz & Wingz has hosted numerous fundraising and special events, including Libertarian candidate for President Gary Johnson in 2012.

  • Chef Bill,

I really hope you intend to give the Geraci family the money that you collected from the Benefit. That money was intended for the family, not you. You have disgraced the city of Streetsboro. You say you are " EMBEDDED IN THE COMMUNITY"  prove it and turn over the money. I would go ahead and put your listing back on Craigslist, you are no longer WELCOME in Streetsboro.
