The Guitar Shack raises money for Streetsboro Family Days

About 40 to 50 fans of rock 'n roll and Streetsboro Family Days gathered Jan. 24 at The Guitar Shack to raise money for the non-profit.

According to organizers, the raffle raised $613 for the cause.

After Streetsboro Family Days nearly emptied its coffers to donate money to the family of longtime Streetsboro Family Days performer Sonny Geraci, The Guitar Shack and other organizations have organized fundraisers to build up the organization's bank account.

Hosting the event were Rick and Christine Haylett, who own The Guitar Shack and Once Loved Threads, respectively, but they were helped by residents John Loske and Meredith Wemhoff, who organized the raffle.

Providing entertainment at the event was the band Thrown 2 Gether, which includes Bob Fowler on rhythym guitar, Rich Turner on lead guitar and vocals, TJ Thompson on bass and vocals, Tori Schuette on keyboard and vocals and Tom Humphrey on percussion.

At the event, tickets also were sold for a separate raffle of a 2014 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Touring Motorcycle. Fred Mathis and Boro Dawgs Fan Club are raffling off the bike, with proceeds going to Streetsboro Family Days. A winning ticket will be pulled June 28 at Thunder in the Boro, which begins at 6 p.m. at Chuggers, located in Market Square Plaza.
