The paving between Kent and Streetsboro on Route 43 should be finished in the next several weeks, weather permitting, according to Justin Chesnic, a public information officer for District 4 of the Ohio Department of Transportation.
What’s left is some miscellaneous bridge work and striping, he said.
The entire length of Route 43 between Kent and Streetsboro is being repaved as part of a $1.5 million project, which also includes the portion of Route 59 between Menough Rd. and S. Scranton Street and Route 261 between the eastern Kent corporation limit and Route 59, according to a May 2 news release from ODOT.
The entire project is slated for completion by mid-October, but Chesnic said it could be done before that, if weather cooperates.
