A Ravenna Township man is on house arrest, charged with possessing child pornography in Streetsboro during a nine-month time period last year.

A 27-count Portage County grand jury indictment handed up on May 29 alleges that Wesley E. Hudson, 67, possessed, solicited, received, exchanged or controlled child pornography between Jan. 1 and Oct. 15, 2013.

He is charged with 10 counts of pandering sexually-oriented material involving a minor, all fourth-degree felonies, and 16 counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, all fifth-degree felonies. Arrested May 31 and arraigned in Portage County Common Pleas Court on June 2, Hudson pleaded not guilty, was appointed an attorney through the Portage County Public Defender's Office and released on a personal recognizance bond pending future court dates.

Conditions of Hudson's bond are that he remain on electronically monitored house arrest at his own expense, except for court and medical appointments, and that he not use a computer while his case is pending in court.

Judge Laurie Pittman scheduled a jury trial for July 22, according to court records.
