Register for Dave Giambrone Memorial 5K

The Dave Giambrone  5K Run/Walk pays tribute to a leader in the community, who gave a great deal in his life, said Streetsboro Family Days Founder Chuck Kocisko.

Giambrone, who died March 29, 2013, was the owner of Giambrone Contruction Co., and  Kocisko said he plied his craft to the betterment of the community, building dugouts at two ballfields in Streetsboro City Park, renovating the gym at Streetsboro High School after a June 2010 fire and helping fix problems over the years at his church, St. Joan of Arc Church, said Kocisko.

The race begins at Streetsboro Plaza, with registration beginning at 7 a.m. and the race starting at 8 a.m. July 26.

Registration the morning of the race is $20, but those who pre-register at the Streetsboro Family Days website pay $15. 

The course is flat and will have a first-aid station at the 1.5-mile mark.

The first 300 participants will each receive a T-shirt. 

The age group divisions are:

• 14 and under

• 15-19

• 20-24

• 25-29

• 30-34

• 35-39

• 40-44

• 45-49

• 50-54

• 55-59

• 60-64

• 65-69

• 70 and over.

The race is sponsored by University Hospitals, which also is the main sponsor the entire four-day festival.
